In a city where our officials dubbed 2010 "The Year of Urban Agriculture," folks like us who are on the ground, pitchforks and seeds in hand, need changes made in land use and rules that govern what we can and cannot do. Without certain regulations changed, the future of urban agriculture is weak. We need to step up and let officials know firsthand what is needed to allow this movement to truly take root.
Well, now is our chance to be heard: Tuesday, June 15th @ 2 pm @ City Hall, Seattle

Tomorrows City Council Meeting's agenda can be found here and more information on what is being presented by Andrea Petzel can be seen here.
Key changes being proposed:
- introduce urban agriculture & urban farming into residential land use codes to allow growing & selling
- increase chickens from 3 to 8
- Farmers Markets permitted in commercial zones
- 15 foot extension on height limits for greenhouses dedicated to food production
We truly hope you can make it with short notice. Let our voices be heard!
