Working on the ground (literally) for the past two years, we've met some amazing individuals and have had the honor of working alongside even more amazing organizations.

GroundUP Organics is one of said groups -- super amazing, highly inspiring people working on creating green employment and educational opportunities for low-income youth of color in urban centers.


It's been amazing to see what the program -- and the youth specifically -- have been able to create. Case in point: over this summer, more than 4.6 tons of waste was diverted from landfills and used to enrich the soils of the farm. And they're expecting to hit 6 tons by the end of the year. All done in the heart of Seattle. That accomplishment alone deserves a high ten!

Thursday, December 1st there is a Green Drinks event at Twilight Martini Lounge to help in raising funds to kickstart the 2012 season for GroundUp. $10 on BPT, $15 at the door. And? A super special BIKE RIDER BONUS.
