That's right. We're at it again! This year, we're working with our pals at Seattle Tilth + Burst for Prosperity and will head out to Auburn and lend a few hands at the United Peoples Farm.
Date: Saturday, July 16th
Time: 9 AM (depart Seattle) - 4 PM (arrive back home)
Meet Up: Central District Farm, on the corner of 22nd & Union.
Transportation: Carpool. If you are interested in driving + being a ride share, please contact Tori at tori (at) alleycatacres (dot) com.
If you join, we'd ask you please bring your own lunch + nibbles + water bottle + clothes you don't mind getting dirty in. We'll provide the wheels, the water + and awesome opportunity to connect with other amazing individuals, communities + organizations working hard to make positive change.
Seattle Tilth is partnering with Burst for Prosperity to help refugees, immigrants and other low-income individuals overcome obstacles to creating small farming businesses.
They are creating a regional “farm incubator” at Red Barn Ranch called the United People’s Farm. The goal of this program is to help individuals and families become financially independent, apply their experience to farming and other related businesses and increase farmland and access to healthy local food.
This project is right up our alley (pun intended) and we want to lend as many hands as possible. Will you join all of us?
